I thought I’d introduce you to my kitchen.

This is the stove. Totally bodgy and a bit dicky – the big element bottom left only cooks on a high heat. Must get on to landlord about that. One day, I will have something like this.

Fridge. Too small and the door swings open. Again, not ideal. (Note: small freezing obsession.)

This is my Le Creuset casserole, my pride and joy. My partner bought me this as a Christmas present in London. I was so excited I threatened to take it with us to Paris on the train for a week’s holiday. It cooks everything splendidly. Everything.

Knife. You only need one decent cook’s knife: this is mine. (Also: lovely bread knife on layby at Milly’s at the moment.)

Wooden spoons. From Milly’s a few years ago. Trusty.

Skillet. Also from my partner. Also from Millys. She’s good with presents, see.

Emile Henri gratin dish. Also from… Oh, you get the picture.

And here is where it all winds up: on my mum’s dining room table, which she has kindly donated to the cause since it doesn’t fit in her new house. I do love it when parents donate nice things.
